Sub Floor & Interior Framing

A strong foundation is needed to support the weight of the entire van build. All cabinets and structures put in the van will also be squared to the van, so this is one of the most important steps.

A piece of 3M Thinsulate insulation material, with the black side partially peeled back to reveal the white insulating layer inside.

Insulation and Wiring

Insulation is handled in three steps. 1. Rigid foam boards for the floor. 2. Thinsulate for large open surfaces on the walls and ceilings. 3. Havelock wool for all the nooks and crannies. These 3 products allows for most R-Value and easiest installation throughout the van.

The van is also prewired at this stage allowing wires to be hidden behind the walls.

Finish Flooring, Ceiling, Walls

This is the stage were a van starts to come alive. With hundreds of different finishes possible the van can go in many directions all depending on how the customer envisions the final product.

80/20 Framing

80/20 is extruded aluminum, it is stronger, lighter, and easier to work with then straight wood cabinets. It also provides more safety in the unfortunate event of a crash providing less projectiles to cause injury.

Cabinetry Finishes

Although 80/20 is stronger and lighter then wood, it gives an industrial look to any build. That’s why we cover the 80/20 in wood panels to create a more home like environment. Panels can be finished in many different ways, from staining to painting and even laminated in HPL to look like metals, stones, or other woods.
